Roles & permissions
What owners, admins, and members can each do in a workspace.
The three roles

Notes on the owner
- Every workspace has exactly one owner — the person who created it.
- The owner can’t be demoted or removed, and only the owner can change the plan or touch billing. That keeps the person paying and the person in control the same person.
- Need to hand a workspace to someone else? Ownership transfer isn’t self-serve yet — email us.
Changing someone’s role
Owners and admins can switch a person between Member and Admin in Settings → Members, effective immediately.
Leaving a workspace
There’s no self-serve leave yet — ask an admin to remove you, which takes effect right away.
